On the morning of May 8th, a 19-member delegation from Singapore’s Ministry of Education, Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board, Singapore Teachers’ Academy, and Singapore Artificial Intelligence in Education Association visited our university. Zhou Congzhao, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President, met with the guests. Sun Guangzhong, Secretary of the Party General Branch and Deputy Dean of the School of the Gifted Young, Li Xiangyang, Executive Dean of the Department of Information and Intelligent Science, Wu Xiaojun, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Ma Yunsheng, Secretary of the Party General Branch and Director of the Basic Education Group, and Wang Chen, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, attended the talks. The two sides exchanged views on further promoting educational cooperation. Yao Deyong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial Department of Education, was also present at the meeting.

Zhou Congzhao, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that the University of Science and Technology of China has always maintained close ties with top universities and research institutions in Singapore, and has a long-term and extensive foundation for cooperation in multiple disciplinary fields. He hoped that both sides could further learn from each other’s experiences and strengths in the future, and carry out more extensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation in areas such as educational innovation, faculty training, and scientific research cooperation. Wang Chen, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, introduced the basic situation of the university and the cooperation and exchange between our university and Singapore to the delegation.

Lim Meijun, Deputy Director of the Curriculum Planning and Development Division of Singapore’s Ministry of Education, introduced the achievements of Singapore’s Ministry of Education in promoting educational reforms and the basic situation of international exchanges and cooperation. She expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen cooperation, empower through artificial intelligence, jointly promote the innovative development of digital educational technologies, cultivate outstanding leading talents with an international perspective and innovative spirit, and inject new vitality into the educational undertakings of both countries.

During the talks, the participants also discussed and exchanged views on such topics as talent cultivation, cooperation and exchanges in the field of artificial intelligence, teacher teaching development, and cooperation and exchanges in the field of basic education.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the university history museum and the Junior Class College.
