On the afternoon of 6 November, representatives from AiPilot Singapore, iFLYTEK and the Association for Research on AI in Learning and Leadership(ARAILL) paid a fruitful visit to the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language for professional exchanges. Centred on the theme Application of AI Technology in Teaching, the session sought to explore innovative uses of AI in language education and chart potential avenues for future collaboration.

The Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) warmly welcomed the delegation, with its Director, Master Teachers, lecturers and staff from operational departments in attendance.
Dr. Foo Suan Fong, Director of SCCL, began by briefing the visitors on the centre’s background, mission, curriculum provisions and research strengths. He shared that SCCL strives to be a leading hub for Chinese language teaching, research and professional training within Singapore’s bilingual education landscape.
The centre has developed a bespoke local curriculum framework structured around four key modules: pedagogical strategies and methodologies, language knowledge and literacy, assessment and evaluation, as well as curriculum design and research.
SCCL also maintains extensive collaborative ties with numerous tertiary institutions locally and internationally, working collectively to advance the development of Chinese language education.
Subsequently, Mr. Fang Lü, a representative of the visiting delegation, introduced iFLYTEK’s innovative achievements and successful cases in the field of AI-assisted language education. As a leading enterprise in artificial intelligence, iFLYTEK has made significant headway in speech recognition, natural language processing, and AI-aided language learning. Mr. Fang Lü noted that iFLYTEK is committed to applying AI technology in the education sector, aiming to provide more efficient and personalized learning tools for teachers and students alike.
Representatives from theAssociation for Research on AI in Learning and Leadership shared the organisation’s efforts and achievements in advancing AI-assisted language learning. The association is dedicated to driving research and development in this emerging field. Through organising a wide range of related initiatives, it actively promotes the preservation, enrichment and progression of language and cultural heritage.

During the exchange session, the visiting delegates and hosts held in-depth discussions on the application of AI technology in teaching. All parties unanimously agreed that AI boasts broad prospects and immense potential in educational settings. By leveraging AI, key capabilities such as personalised learning, teaching support, automated marking and instant feedback can be realised, helping to enhance teaching outcomes and enrich students’ learning experience.

Looking ahead, all visiting parties expressed their commitment to forging closer ties with the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language. Both sides will jointly drive innovative AI applications in language education, and step up personnel exchanges and professional training to boost the AI literacy and practical capabilities of educators and learners alike.
This visit and exchange not only deepened the understanding of AiPilot, iFLYTEK, and the Association for Research on AI in Learning and Leadership towards the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language, but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. It is believed that with joint efforts, AI will play a more prominent role in the field of language education and make greater contributions to nurturing more outstanding talents.
