Focusing on technological innovation in the Lion City, we embark on a new journey in AI innovation! The launch ceremony of the Singapore Regional leg of the WeChat Mini Program Global Innovation Challenge concluded successfully at the Singapore Jinjiang Guild Hall on 11 November 2025.

This world-class innovation competition is holding its first-ever Singapore Regional leg. It is co-organised by the Association for Research on AI in Learning and Leadership (ARAILL), Tencent’s WeChat Mini Programs Team, the Singapore Jinjiang Guild Hall, and the Global Alliance of AI in Higher Education (GAINS). The initiative aims to use accessible mini-program educational tools and AI technology as a foundation to unlock young people’s innovative potential and encourage them to use technology to solve real-world problems in their communities.

Dr. Chua Chee Li, President of the Singapore Association for AI Education, shared profound insights in his speech: “WeChat Mini Programs are ground-breaking innovations. Through this challenge, we hope young people will not only become responsible AI users but also grow into creative AI designers.” He highlighted that the lightweight nature of mini programmes—“easily accessible and disposable”—enables students to bring their ideas to life quickly and truly apply what they have learned. “STEAM education should not be limited to Western tools. The synergy between Eastern-origin mini programmes and Singapore’s tech education will undoubtedly create exciting new opportunities.”
