Focus on technological innovation in the Lion City and embark on a new journey of AI innovation! On November 11, 2025, the launching ceremony of the WeChat Mini Program Global Innovation Challenge · Singapore Regional Competition concluded successfully at the Singapore Jinjiang Guild Hall.
This world’s top innovation competition has set up the Singapore Regional Competition for the first time. It is co-hosted by the Association for Robotics, AI & Literacy in Learning (ARAILL), Tencent’s WeChat Mini Programs team, the Singapore Jinjiang Guild Hall, and the Global Alliance of AI in Higher Education (GAINS). The aim is to use low-threshold mini program educational tools and AI technology as a fulcrum to stimulate young people’s innovative potential and encourage them to use technology to solve practical problems around them.

A gathering of experts to discuss new possibilities in AI education
The launching ceremony was hosted by Iris Cheng, Secretary-General of the Singapore Association for AI Education, and the opening immediately ignited the audience’s expectations for science and innovation education.

Dr. Chua Chee Li, President of the Singapore Association for AI Education, shared profound insights in his speech: “WeChat Mini Programs are epoch-making innovative products. Through this challenge, we hope that young people will not only become responsible AI consumers but also grow into creative AI designers.” He particularly emphasized that the lightweight advantages of mini programs, which are “easily accessible and can be left after use,” enable students to quickly implement their ideas and truly achieve “applying what they have learned.” “STEAM education should not be limited to Western tools. The collision between mini programs originating from the East and Singapore’s technology education will surely spark dazzling sparks.”

Ms. Fu Kai, a senior researcher at Tencent WeChat Strategic Research Institute, took the on-site guests to gain an in-depth understanding of how WeChat Mini Programs support global teenagers’ innovation and learning. It is reported that WeChat Mini Programs currently cover 92 countries and regions, with over 600 million active users. The Mini Program education platform dedicated to teenagers, with AI assistance, enables students to easily transform their wonderful ideas into runnable Mini Program works.

Four parties work together to embark on a new journey of the competition
Under the gaze of the entire audience, representatives from the four parties took the stage together to complete the highly ceremonial launch and unveiling. The four guests placed their palms on the palm-shaped activation device and worked together to light up the event badge, symbolizing the official launch of the Singapore regional competition.

After the launch ceremony, the WeChat team presented commemorative gifts to all partners, which not only expressed gratitude for working together but also witnessed the common determination of all parties to promote AI education innovation.

AI generates a mini-program in 5 minutes! The live demonstration shocked the entire audience
The most surprising segment was undoubtedly Teacher Zheng Wenjian’s remote real-time demonstration. Through an online connection, he created a fully functional mini-program from scratch in just 5 minutes, vividly showing how AI technology can significantly lower the barriers to development, allowing everyone present to intuitively feel the infinite possibilities of AI empowering education.

Starting today, the WeChat Mini Program Global Innovation Challenge · Singapore Regional Competition is open for registration to primary and secondary school students currently studying in Singapore. Participants only need to log in to the official competition website to register. The competition encourages students to start from their observations of life and propose their innovative solutions by creating mini programs.

From the Lion City to the world, from small ideas to great inventions, this competition is destined to be the starting point for Singapore’s youth to explore AI and create the future. It is hoped that every teenager with passion will shine with the brilliance of technological innovation here, allowing the world to witness the innovative power of the new generation in the Lion City!
